The Best Sichuan is a szechuan in New York, New York. It is listed at 7 E 47th St, New York, NY 10017, which places it among the local businesses of New York that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as chinese restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (646) 669-7338. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is mala747.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 3,216 reviews, which is a strong result for a szechuan in New York and suggests consistent service.

New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in New York peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

To start, I personally found the double cooked pork to be a little undercooked (funnily enough) and the fat was still a little too chewy for me. I believe I've had it before at one of the different locations and it was better there, but this one wasn't that great. The flavor was a little bit on the milder side as well. 7/10 The braised pork belly was honestly disappointing. The fat was not tender enough, instead it was a tad little bit on the chewier side, but there wasn't even a lot of flavor in the sauce to begin with. A sad offering to be sure. Definitely not the worst, and I've had much better which is probably why I'm going to give this a 6/10 The Beef Cumin Style dish was probably my favorite not because it was mind-blowing or anything but because it was just better than the rest of the dishes that were ordered. I think that says a lot about how I felt about the food overall. Decent cumin style beef, love the cumin seasoning, feels a little one dimensional though. Solid regardless - 7.5/10 Not sure why the ratings are so insanely high for this place, maybe because it's in midtown and probably gets hit a lot by tourists but personally I'm more curious about the other Sichua

You gets authentic Chinese food here. I was a bit worried before going, because my kids don’t eat spicy food. But they have some choices of non-spicy dishes and they actually taste good. You can also ask for less heats. The portion is not huge, one dish per person is necessary.

It is the nyc cynic in me to see 4.8 stars for a Chinese restaurant in midtown but then again there were over 3,000 reviews. So I’m here now and it is wonderful. I was just in Chengdu and this meal is a nostalgia trip. The quality of the food and spices is superb. The decor is simple but immaculate and the owner is warm but correct. I dropped a chopstick on the table and instantly a new pair appeared. That is Michelin styles attentiveness! Anyhow a wonderful meal, vegetarian friendly and my must dine when I return to nyc.

I had such a good experience at The Best Sichuan! They had so many wonderful vegetarian options and were very accommodating to my allergies as well β€” my personal favorites were the green beans and the scallion pancakes! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to try good Chinese food in nyc <3

This and the other The Best Sichuan restaurants (eg. 21) started to become our go to place in Manhattan. Even if there is no β€œwow” factor, you can trust for a good meal here. Food is nice and service is quick.
